126 of the Withdrawal Agreement and Article 1A(6) of the ITA, in conjunction with Article 39 of the 2020 Law, which designates the end of the implementation period as `intellectual property completion day`. Article 132 of the Withdrawal Agreement provides that the transitional period may be extended by a maximum of one or two years by a single decision of the Joint Committee (composed of representatives of both the EU and the United Kingdom and established by Article 164). However, the new Section 15A of the EUA prohibits a Minister of the Crown from agreeing in the Joint Committee on an extension of the implementation deadline, which would require a new act of Parliament that does not do so in order for such an extension to take place.
